Why paintings of van gogh and claude look so great when you are on drugs but if you are not they look dull?

those paintings if u not drudged they look rusty not complicated and with lake of detail but on drugs look like a high definition picture the water looks so real they look like a hologram the color look so live like if the artist meant that his paint would be more appreciated if u look at it high in la promenade by monet you can actually see air blowing the woman hair where as if u not that looks just like a cloud behind the girl and the water lilies that looks just like a scene made by Walt Disney whit the newest computer technology how does that happen??
