Do males lose the sensitivity in their penis because of masturbation.?

So because of certain circumstances me and my husband have been apart for a long time, years actually. We rarely get to see each other. So most of the time he has to masturbate, but now he has issues with sensitivity in his penis, he says he can only feel 20% out of a 100%. Has this happened to anyone? How do you fix it. He says when he masturbates he squeezes harder and vagina doesn’t’ feel as tight. Also he says with his hand it is much faster and now he can barely orgasm or he needs some crazy speed in order to do so, which is hard to simulate.
