Why do artist like Vincent Van Gogh only become famous after death, is it because they were poor ?

No - Vincent came from a middle-class family, with his brother being an art dealer. Nothing to do with being poor, but not being accepted as a legitimate artist in his own lifetime. In fact, he and other Post-Impressionists were well-known in the art world, but hated for what they were doing.
