What tests should I do when buying a used Ipod Touch 4G?

I am about to go and buy a used ipod touch in the next hour, what tests should I do before I buy it to ensure it works properly? All I can think of is make sure the headphone port works, any other things I should keep in mind while looking it over? Like any other certain things to check?
